Dandelions and Viruses

Last week, Betsy Aoki tweeted:

This intrigued me, as I had used Dandelion and Virus analogies talking about the social web 2 years ago and used these pictures:

Looks like a case of metaphors converging.

    Unrestricted growth = cancer, yes? Doesn't it make sense that business "logic" that is similar would move/visualise in a similar way?
